The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department announces that East Athens Community Center and Lay Park Community Center will temporarily close for annual restoration to their gymnasium floors.

Lay Park Community Center, located at 297 Hoyt Street, will be closed starting Friday, November 16 and East Athens Community Center, located at 400 McKinley Drive, will be closed starting Tuesday, November 20. Both facilities will reopen to the public on Monday, November 26.

This is the annual refinishing project for the gymnasiums will restore the original beauty of the parquet maple gym floor.
