At Tanger Outlets Commerce, the Feathers & Antlers Outdoors store recently achieved an important milestone celebrating their first-year anniversary!  The business, which is family owned by Scot and Sandra Evans and their son, Scot, Jr., was recently name the Banks County Chamber/CVB ‘Business of the Month.’  They have been residents of Banks County for 26 years.

In 2015, the Feathers & Antlers family started traveling all over the southeast to promote and market their new ‘duck call’ business by participating in 20 major hunting expos. For roughly 6 months out of the year they would be in a different city every weekend stretching from Texas to Florida and up to West Virginia and Pennsylvania.  In 2016, after realizing that there weren’t any businesses in the local area serving this product market, they decided they would like to open their own store close to home.  Tanger Outlets paved the way for their new opportunities. In October 2017, Feathers & Antlers Outdoors opened their doors to the public providing a wide variety of brands such as TrueTimber, Drake Waterfowl, Gotta Kill It To Grill It, and HEYBO.  Additionally, Scot has an area in the store where he makes custom duck calls while customers watch.   Afterwards, he will tune them to meet their calling abilities.

Jumping forward to the spring of 2018 the family transformed their store into a retailer of a ‘one-stop-shop’ for hunting, fishing, archery and related outdoor merchandise. New this year they offer Bear Archery and PSE Bows with a large selection of crossbow products and all the accessories needed to complete the bow package. Another addition this Fall included camouflage apparel brands such as Banded and Rocky.

Scot Evans, Jr. is the store Manager, bow tech and duck call maker. His father, Scot Sr,  has 40 years sales and marketing experience and plans to retire to concentrate on the store full time.  Sandra Evans runs their cattle farm on 125 acres at home while providing all the accounting and necessary purchasing of their inventory.  They are passionate about the opportunities out there and fortunate to have the family working together in this endeavor.

Their overall goal is to be a ‘go to’ retail store for many types of hunters and fisherman that either live in the area or commuting.  They will continue to offer unique, ‘on trend’ apparel and accessories to the outdoor sportsman.  Their main overarching passion is service to each customer and the ability to provide individual attention to their needs.  Being family owned and living in the area, makes their experience in the hunting and fishing arena more valuable to their customers.
