Certified Public Accounting firm Smith Adcock and Company, LLP, recently welcomed Jeff Kellar as its new tax director. Kellar, a veteran CPA with 30 years of experience, will be based in the firm’s Athens office but will serve clients in Atlanta, Athens and beyond.

Kellar specializes in international tax, merger, acquisitions and succession planning, helping clients maximize the long-term value of their companies. With experience serving biotech, computer and medical technology companies, his focus will be on entrepreneurial businesses using his depth of experiences to solve problems, identify opportunities and create solutions.

“I am excited to serve the entrepreneurial minds of the technology sectors in Atlanta and Athens, assisting them as they continue to grow and become successful companies,” said Kellar.

Kellar previously worked as tax director for an Atlanta-based global computer technology company, as well an international oil and gas specialty chemical company, with the majority of his experience with the Big 4 accounting firms.

As an Oconee County native and having received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Georgia, Kellar has strong ties to the Athens area community. Outside of work, Kellar has assisted in the creation of Athens Church, as well as serving on several local and international humanitarian relief organizations.
