The Technology Association of Georgia and TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed) will honor Georgia schools, programs and companies for supporting efforts and achievements in promoting science, technology, engineering and math education throughout the state of Georgia during the Eighth Annual STEM Education Awards on Friday November 2, 2018 at Loudermilk Conference Center; 40 Courtland Street, NE in Atlanta.

With approximately 70 submissions for the this year's STEM Education Awards and the support of distinguished judges, TAG-Ed continues to work diligently to inspire, engage and acknowledge some of the most impactful programs throughout the state of Georgia and honored to present the finalists listed below:

Elementary School - Recognizes innovative STEM curriculum and programs in Elementary Schools that promote STEM Education in the classroom and expand STEM skills while helping to point students towards productive technology related careers:

• New Mountain Hill Elementary School

• Whitesburg Elementary School

• Heard Elementary STEM Academy

• Cleveland Avenue Elementary School

Middle School - Recognizes innovative STEM curriculum and programs in Middle Schools that promote STEM Education in the classroom and expand STEM skills while helping to point students towards productive technology related careers:

• Thomson Middle School

• Coleman Middle School

• Amana Academy

High School - Recognizes innovative STEM curriculum and programs in High Schools that promote STEM Education in the classroom and expand STEM skills while helping to point students towards productive Technology related careers:

• South Atlanta High School

• McIntosh High School

STEM Day - Recognizes the best activities conducted by a school or extracurricular program during Georgia's Annual STEM Day:

• Isle of Hope K-8 STEM School

• Amana Academy

• Clark Creek Elementary STEM Academy

STEM Certified School - Recognizes the crucial role that STEM Certified schools play in mentoring other schools that are working towards certification. Nominees for this award will be evaluated based on their outreach efforts supporting other schools and programs:

• Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy

• Northside Elementary School

Post Secondary Outreach - Recognizes the crucial work of attracting and transitioning students interested in STEM Education to post secondary programs that expand STEM skills and lead to productive technology related careers:

• Georgia State University

• Georgia State University Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Corporate Outreach: - Recognizes the efforts of the business community to get involved and better prepare our students for technology careers of the future:

• Clark Creek STEM Academy

• Honeywell Hometown Solutions

• Columbia Engineering and Services, Inc.

Extracurricular Program - Recognizes extracurricular programs who provide innovative STEM opportunities for students in order to expand STEM skills and workforce readiness:

• SECME at Statesboro High School

• Museum of Aviation

• LHS STEAM Club

According to The Condition of STEM 2016, between 2012 and 2016, the percentage of students interested in STEM increased by 3% in the state of Georgia.
