U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) comments on Senate passage of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) five-year reauthorization:

This bill delivers the necessary resources to keep American aviation competitive. Additionally, reducing burdensome regulations in the pilot hiring process will save valuable time and money. Atlanta is home to the world’s largest international airport, making Georgia a hub of innovation and a gateway to the rest of the globe. Commonsense policies like this will ensure our state and country continue to be a leader in aviation for decades to come.”
 
Senator Perdue Secured The Following Provisions:

·         Enhancement of the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA): Would simplify the hiring process for both pilots and air carriers by allowing carriers secure and appropriate access to National Driver Register (NDR) records through the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

·         Commissioned Department of Transportation (DOT) study: As recommended in President Trump’s infrastructure proposal, this study would examine the use of Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) financing tools for airport infrastructure improvements.
