This Breast Cancer Awareness Month marks the opening of Athens’s very own Beautiful You boutique, which specializes in products for women who have had or are going to have breast surgery.

The only boutique of its kind in the area, Beautiful You is located on Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center’s campus. The shop offers apparel designed to ensure comfort and confidence after breast surgery.

“The Beautiful You boutique is about helping women once they've had a mastectomy or breast surgery by providing things like breast prosthesis, bras and other apparel and resources," said Natalie Strickland, mastectomy boutique coordinator at Piedmont Athens Regional. “We wanted to provide these women with things to help make them feel comfortable throughout and after their breast surgery recovery process.” 

Services and products at the boutique include prostheses for balance and aesthetics after breast surgery, all of which are fitted by a certified fitter.

The boutique also offers swimwear and lingerie designed for mastectomy and post-surgery support, skin care products to relive skin-related side effects caused by cancer treatments, head coverings and wigs, jewelry, books and other cancer awareness products. 

“Being able to provide these services to women is a passion of mine,” Strickland said. “I love to see and help these ladies and to create awareness about all of the good things our boutique is doing for the breast cancer survivors in our community. That’s what this boutique is all about.”

The Beautiful You boutique is tentatively scheduled to open on Monday, Oct. 22. An open house and ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening will be scheduled later this year.
