Fortson, Bentley and Griffin, P.A. Welcomes Emily Escoe

Fortson, Bentley & Griffin, P.A. has added Emily Escoe, a new attorney, to its law practice. Escoe, who has served as a clerk with the firm since May 2016 while attending the University of Georgia’s Law School and Terry College of Business, has joined as an attorney specializing in corporate law.
 
“We are excited for Emily to continue as a part of our team, now as an attorney in our corporate department,” said shareholder David K. Linder. “Emily’s diverse background in communications, business, international relations and law make her a natural fit for our team and many of our clients.  The opportunity to have her join us is one we did not want to miss.”
 
Last May, Escoe graduated cum laude with a Master of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business and a law degree from the University of Georgia. She also earned her undergraduate degree from the the University of Georgia, graduating from the top of her class at the Grady College of Journalism. Prior to her time as a law clerk with Fortson, Bentley and Griffin, Escoe worked as an air and ocean import agent and abroad with both the U.S. State Department Consulate and a communications agency in Brazil.
 
While obtaining her advanced degrees, she was honored with the CALI Award for highest grade in Federal Income Tax, was a Sic Vos Non Vobis Scholar, a Lassiter Family MBA Fellow and served as a writing teaching assistant.
 
“I’m honored to join Fortson, Bentley and Griffin,” said Escoe. “For the last two years, I have been able to get to know the attorneys, staff and clients of the firm, and I don’t think there is a law firm doing better work in North Georgia.”
