"So It Goes" Exhibition at Lyndon House Arts Center
Wednesday, August 15th, 2018
The Lyndon House Arts Center will host "So It Goes," an exhibit of paintings by Lisa Freeman. Freeman, who is best-known locally for her assemblages, will also exhibit three-dimensional works with small-scale clay figures inspired by the paintings.
Freeman says, “The assemblage scenes were created some time after the paintings were completed. They mark an important transitional time in my art, the time before my main focus of Assemblage work.” The title "So It Goes" references the novel Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, and his Children's Crusade.
The exhibition is free of charge and on display August 25 - October 8, 2018 during regular gallery hours of Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. An opening reception is planned for Thursday, September 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Lisa Freeman’s "So It Goes" exhibit of work, which references World War II, will coincide with an exhibit of John Cleaveland’s World War I Landscapes.
