John Scott has been named the new vice president and director of Economic Development for the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce. Scott has worked for the Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority since 2012.

“We are excited to welcome John Scott to the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce and the Scott family to Jackson County,” said Chamber Chairman Larry Ebert. “John’s skill set, experience and enthusiasm are a great fit for the new project activity experienced here in recent years and the need for increased focus on retention and expansion of our existing industry. His attention to workforce development will also be critical moving forward.”

Since 2009, Scott has worked in the economic development field. He has worked and interned in counties in both Mississippi and Georgia. In 2017, Scott and his team were named the winners of the Excellence in Economic Development Award from the Site Selectors Guild.
