Dr. Brandon Taylor to Join Athens Internal Medicine Associates

Brandon Taylor, M.D., a primary care physician who practices adult internal medicine, will be joining Athens Internal Medicine Associates effective July 15.
Dr. Taylor joins Drs. Pat Brooks, Matthew Farmer, Mark Firth, Jane Fleagle, Elizabeth Smith and Lisa Smith. Athens Internal Medicine Associates is part of St. Mary's Medical Group and is located in the Resource Medical Park at 1500 Oglethorpe Ave., Suites 400A and B.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Taylor provides adult wellness care, routine sick care, and chronic condition management, including ordering tests, diagnosing problems, prescribing medication, and referring patients to specialists as needed.
Dr. Taylor has deep roots in Georgia, graduating from Camden County High School in the South Georgia community of Kingsland. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in aviation maintenance administration at the Naval Air Station in Sigonella, Sicily.
Following his discharge from the Navy, Dr. Taylor attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in biology while also working as a tutor in general chemistry, biology, physics and organic chemistry, and as an undergraduate math examination proctor for pre-Calculus courses. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he also completed his internal medicine residency this spring.
Dr. Taylor is a strong believer in community service. During his undergraduate years at UGA, he volunteered at St. Mary's Hospice House and served as a research student with Northeast Georgia Cancer Care's Athens Oncology Committee. In 2009 and 2010, he was part of an International Service Learning Medical Team that provided care in Tanzania, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. He has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Augusta and the Make-A-Wish Foundation Georgia Chapter.
