Steve Shirley, M.D., longtime general surgeon in Athens, is joining Athens General and Colorectal Surgeons with office hours and surgery dates in Athens and Lavonia. The move is effective July 2.

Dr. Shirley will join the AGCS team of Drs. Aaron Carr, Sergio Meijas, W. Andrew Lawrence and Ryan Katz.

Dr. Shirley is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the Georgia Surgical Society, the Crawford Long Society and the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

He will continue to provide various general surgery services while on the AGCS team.
