Data collection for the first Georgia Latino Entrepreneurship Study is underway. The study, a collaboration with the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative will allow researchers to benchmark Georgia Latino businesses against national averages and contribute to increase awareness of the assets and contributions of local entrepreneurs of Latin American descent.

The project, spearheaded by the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia), is an effort to advance knowledge of the Latinx/Hispanic community and support entrepreneurship as an economic-sufficiency strategy for the state.

The survey, available HERE in English and Spanish is available to all Latinx business owners in the state and self-employed professionals, including both incorporated and unincorporated commercial activity.

A diverse research team supporting the data analysis includes Omar Rodriguez-Vila, PhD (Principal Investigator), Sundar Bharadwaj, PhD (The Coca-Cola Chair, Professor of Marketing at UGA), Maria Sainz (MCSainz Consulting), Marisol Angelini (Marketing Executive) among others.

Sponsors of the study include the Small Business Development Center, Office of Minority Business Development, Invest Atlanta, Fifth Third Bank and the Emory Goizueta Business School. Community organizations supporting data collection and the development of the tool include: The Latin American Chamber of Commerce Georgia (LACC Georgia), the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Coalición de Líderes Latinos de Dalton, the Hispanic Alliance GA (La Alianza) and the Entrepreneurship Track at the Cross Keys High School.
