Oconee County Schools received a 2017 Financial Efficiency Star Rating of “5” – the highest possible score – from the Georgia Department of Education. The 2017 calculation is based on a three-year average of per pupil expenditures and College and Career Ready Performance Index scores. OCS is one of only three Georgia systems to receive a perfect district score.

“As one of the premier school districts in Georgia and the nation, I am pleased to once again see us at the very top regarding achievement, while being fiscally responsible to our taxpayers and community,” said Superintendent Jason Branch. “We are very blessed with exceptional teachers, leaders, students, and parents – all of whom have contributed to us being in the top 2% of districts statewide, with both high schools in the top 2% nationwide.”

Oconee County is one of only three systems in the state that has received the distinction of being ranked an “A” district by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, as well as receiving the state’s highest possible financial efficiency rating, for two consecutive years.
