The president and founder of the Bogart-based burton + BURTON is recognized in the February issue of Florists’ Review as one of 14 women leaders shaping the floral industry.

Maxine Burton founded burton + BURTON in 1982, and the business has since grown into the largest wholesale distributor of balloons and coordinating gifts in the world.

Burton credits her employees for her business’ success, adding that everyone understands that the first priority is the customer.

“We surround ourselves with the best educated and most talented people we can hire,” she said.

Prior to founding her floral wholesale business, Burton was a teacher with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Georgia.
