Sen. Josh McKoon (R – Columbus) recently introduced Senate Bill 312, which reduces the fee imposed on expedited documents through the Secretary of State’s office.
“Removing barriers to starting businesses and reducing the heavy hand of the government on our business men and women is a top priority of mine,” said Sen. McKoon. “I want to ensure that anyone who wishes to start a business in Georgia is given every opportunity to do so as quickly as possible, without having to pay extravagant amounts for an expedited filing. Simple measures like these will make owning and conducting business in Georgia easier and more efficient, while contributing to our overall business-friendly environment.”
This bill, which was pre-filed in the Senate in December, would reduce the current fee for expedited processing and filing of a corporate document by 80 percent from $250, to $50.
