GEA Fall Conference to Provide Legal and Regulatory Best Practices for Georgia Businesses

The Georgia Employers' Association 2017 Fall Conference will focus on critical workplace issues that impact the operations of Georgia businesses and discussion of how the new administration might affect the legal landscape. Attendees will hear from experts in the legal, healthcare, and security fields and gain valuable information that will help them chart a course in the coming year. The event is scheduled for November 2, 2017 at Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee.
"The legal and regulatory environment is complicated and Georgia's employers face challenges that range from EEOC compliance to Workers' compensation, FLSA and Department of Labor complaints," states GEA Executive Director, Mike McCurdy. "Our Fall conference provides both high level and focused analysis of key issues from some of the best employment law experts in the country."
The keynote speaker for the event, Neil Wasser, is Chair of the Executive Committee for leading employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith, and Prophete, LLP. Wasser will share his perspective on OSHA compliance with an emphasis on employers' rights during and after an OSHA inspection. Mel Haas, who leads the Macon office for the firm, will provide a status report on new developments in labor and employment law.
Leonard Bevill, President and CEO of Macon Occupational Medicine and Greg Norred, CEO, Norred and Associates are among the other featured speakers for the event. Topics include importance of workplace diversity, how to implement a successful drug-screening program, workplace security topics, and strategies to deal with harassment and discrimination issues.
The content and presentations for the conference are designed to provide business owners, executives, and professionals in the HR field with a base of knowledge that can help them remain in compliance, avoid liability, and implement successful management strategies.
