CCSD Releases 2016-17 Student Performance Data
Friday, October 13th, 2017
The Clarke County School District officially released student performance data from the 2016-2017 school year. The student performance data had previously been shared with the Board of Education at their work session meeting on October 5, 2017.
“The student performance data indicates that we have much more work to accomplish together as a community and school system,” said Dr. Demond A. Means, superintendent of schools. “It is critical that we intentionally develop a culture that is built on our collective vision that all children can achieve academically and developmentally when the school district is focused on continuous improvement, equity and systems alignment.”
A significant achievement gap between African American and Hispanic students and White students in the Clarke County School District is evident in the previous academic year’s student performance data. “Closing the achievement gap in the Clarke County School District while simultaneously ensuring that high achieving students have their evolving academic needs properly met is the sole focus of the school district,” said Means. “It is our mission as educators to eradicate the district of inequities and disparities in student performance by subgroup. All students matter in the Clarke County School District. We are united as a professional team to implement strategies that will help the district improve the academic standing of our students.”
