Piedmont Athens Regional Seeks Nominations for the J.W. Fanning Humanitarian of the Year Award

Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation encourages community members to nominate individuals for the 2017 J.W. Fanning Humanitarian of the Year Award.
 
The award honors Dr. J.W. Fanning, who dedicated his life to community service and served on the Board of Athens Regional Medical Center.
 
2017 commemorates the 28th anniversary of the award, and this year's recipient will be honored at Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation's annual celebration event at Athens Country Club on Friday, September 15th.
 
The Foundation will present this award to an admirable individual who meets the following standards:

- Has made significant contributions to Piedmont Athens Regional through time, interest and commitment to the hospital and the community
 
- Has made significant contributions, as a volunteer, in worthwhile community services that improve the health, welfare, and quality of life for area residents.
 
- Has high personal standards in life
 
Nominees cannot be a current employee or board member of Piedmont Athens Regional.
 
The 2016 "Humanitarian Award" was presented to John A. Drew for his years of dedicated service to Athens Regional and the community. Other past recipients include Annette Barfield, Elizabeth Nevil, Bill Saye, Marlo Wiggans, Janey M. Cooley, Joy T. Elder, Chet Malanoski, Charlie Upchurch, Buck Griffin, Louise Boyce, Dr. Bothwell Traylor, Mary Beth McDonald, Polly Moore, Howard Stroud, Jan Rhodes, Len Sapera, Karen Atkinson, Tal DuVall, Dr. Stephen Lucas, Miriam Huebner, Carol Winthrop, Shelby Lacy, Carl Nichols, Sandy Boyles, Jane Douglas and Marilyn Farmer.
