Walton EMC Communicators Bring Home Awards From National Competition

Walton EMC communicators Greg Brooks and Savannah Chandler recently received awards for their work in the Cooperative Communicators Association Excellence in Communications contest held in conjunction with the organization’s annual Institute.

Professional communicators representing cooperatives from across the United States and Canada submitted nearly 600 entries in the competition. The awards recognize the best in writing, photography, programs and projects, and publications.

Brooks and Chandler placed in four different categories of the contest:

-Third place, Writing – News Release

-Third place, Programs and Projects – Campaigns and Programs

-Third place, Programs and Projects – Broadcast Advertising

-Third place, Publications – Employee Publication

Comments from the judges evaluating their entries included:

“I felt your publication was welcoming and easy to read.”

“Use of social media and crisis management is particularly strong.”

“Neighbors helping neighbors delivers a strong local message.”

This year marks the 21st year Walton EMC has entered and placed in the CCA Excellence in Communications contest.
