The Technical College System of Georgia Foundation recently installed a new president and welcomed three new board members to its ranks. The new trustees represent some of Georgia’s leading companies.
 
Bryan Batson, senior vice president of southern operations and president of Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas, and Florida City Gas at Southern Company Gas, a subsidiary of Southern Company, is the new president of the TCSG Foundation. Batson previously served as chairman of the Foundation’s board development committee. He is a graduate of Clemson University and Mercer University and is a registered professional engineer.
 
The Foundation’s new trustees include Sloane Evans, vice president of human resources at Georgia Power; Todd Henry, operations manager at Caterpillar’s Athens facility; and Aleisa Howell, CPA, a partner at Mauldin & Jenkins.
 
“Bryan Batson’s focus on student success perfectly qualifies him to lead the TCSG Foundation. Bryan is the embodiment of servant leadership, and I look forward to partnering with him as the foundation continues to grow,” said TCSG Commissioner Gretchen Corbin. “I also welcome Sloane Evans, Todd Henry and Aleisa Howell to the Foundation Board, and I look forward to working with them and the entire Foundation to support our 22 technical colleges around the state.”
 
Sloane Evans joined Southern Company in 2001 and is vice president of human resources for Georgia Power, with primary responsibility for health and wellness, talent management, labor relations and human resource delivery. She is also a member of the Georgia Power Management Council. Evans previously served as a trustee for the Chattahoochee Technical College Foundation and Nobis Works, formerly the Tommy Nobis Center. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
 
As plant manager for Caterpillar’s North American manufacturing facility in Athens, Ga., Todd Henry has directed construction, start-up and operations. Prior to joining Caterpillar in 2006 as plant manager for the Building Construction Products Division’s facility in Clayton, N.C., he worked for the Modine Manufacturing Company. Henry has recently served as a member of the board of directors at Athens Technical College. He is a graduate of Purdue University.
 
Aleisa Howell, a certified public accountant and certified government finance manager, specializes in not-for-profit and governmental practice as a partner at Mauldin & Jenkins. Howell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges and on the Georgia Society of CPA’s Not-For-Profit Task Force. Howell is a graduate of Franklin University.
 
Other members of the TCSG Foundation Board include Corinne Hodges, Sparky Reeves, Bryant Beadles, Scott Bentley, Cannon Carr, Jay Flesher, and Kurt Ronn. The TCSG Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
