Governor Announces State Board of Workers’ Compensation Appointment

Gov. Nathan Deal announced the appointment of Benjamin J. Vinson to the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, effective July 1, following a vacancy on the board.

The three-member Board constitutes the Appellate Division and is responsible for the administration of the Workers' Compensation Act. The members of the board work with an advisory council to develop policies and laws affecting workers' compensation and each year, with the advice of the council, promulgate and adopt rules and regulations affecting workers' compensation processes.

Benjamin J. Vinson
Vinson is a partner at Dentons US LLP, where he is a member of the public policy and regulation practice. He previously served as chairman of the Governor’s Commission on Brookhaven. Vinson sits on the boards of the Federalist Society, the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the TAG Education Collaborative. He formerly served as majority caucus counsel in the Georgia House of Representatives. Vinson earned a bachelor’s degree from Furman University and a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He clerked for Judge W. Brevard Hand of the United States District Court and was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review. Vinson and his wife, Ansley, have two children and reside in Eatonton.
