Piedmont Athens Regional to open Oconee campus

Piedmont Athens Regional’s ribbon-cutting event for the opening of the Athens-based hospital’s new Oconee Health Campus is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. April 26.

This campus will be the first health park in northeast Georgia, located at the corner of Jennings Mill Road and Virgil Langford Road off Georgia Highway 316. According to the hospital, the campus fulfills a growing demand and need for outpatient care and aims to eliminate the need for people to drive long distances for high-quality diagnosis and treatment.

The campus includes an urgent care center, outpatient laboratory services, outpatient rehabilitation, a sleep laboratory, the Mind Body Institute, physicians’ offices, a state-of-the-art Breast Health Center featuring tomosynthesis, the most advanced 3-D breast imaging available, as well as a pharmacy and café.

The ribbon-cutting will be open to the public.
