Downtown Businesses Press Commissioners for July Fourth Event

Praising last year’s hastily arranged event for the diverse crowd — and not coincidentally, the business — that it brought to downtown Athens, downtown business owners urged Mayor Nancy Denson and Athens-Clarke County commissioners Tuesday to host a July Fourth fireworks display and festival in the downtown area again this year.
