Downtown Athens Could See Fireworks on July Fourth

A downtown merchant’s offer to help raise money for a July Fourth fireworks show and celebration in downtown Athens, combined with other indications of support for such an event, has Athens-Clarke County Mayor Nancy Denson thinking about allocating county funds to a downtown Independence Day celebration this year.
