Piedmont Healthcare and Humana have finalized a new contract, which ensures patients’ continued in-network access to all Piedmont Healthcare facilities into 2021. The new contract is effective March 1.
The agreement ensures that plan participants enrolled in Humana employer-sponsored and individual plans, including Medicare Advantage, have in-network access to the 1,600 physicians in the Piedmont Clinic and all seven Piedmont hospitals — Piedmont Atlanta, Piedmont Fayette, Piedmont Mountainside, Piedmont Newnan, Piedmont Henry, and adding Piedmont Newton and Piedmont Athens Regional to this new relationship. This agreement is one of several contracts to come to fruition in recent months, safeguarding coverage for members and ensuring access to Piedmont’s facilities and physicians.
As part of the renewed agreement, both parties have expanded the emphasis of value-based, ensuring the care patients receive is focused on improved outcomes and overall better health.
“By partnering with Humana on this agreement, our patients and their family members win,” said Kevin Brown, president and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare. “Not only will they be able to maintain their relationships with the Piedmont physicians they know and trust, they can rest assured knowing they have access to high-quality care close to home.”
