The Clarke County School District is a public school district based in Athens, GA serving the communities of Athens, Winterville, and part of Bogart. Its central office is located in Athens, GA, 75 miles northeast of Atlanta. Athens is known for its strong and vibrant culture as well as its accessibilityto the Atlanta area. The University of Georgia and the CCSD have a strong partnership due to the University’s main campus in Athens, located 75 miles east-northeast of Atlanta. There are fourteen elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools (one non-traditional) serving over 13,000 students, allowing CCSD to offer students both diversity and a culture of academic excellence. Salary range and benefits are competitive to area. Screening is ongoing and immediate. The School Board hopes to name the new superintendent by April 1st, with a start date of June/July 2017. Ability to be licensed as a superintendent in Georgia is required.

Clarke County is looking for a dynamic and committed superintendent who can assume the leadership of a high achieving school district and provide an educational vision and mission of continuous and sustained improvement for all students.
