Sacred Heart Rehab Manager Reappointed to State Board

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has reappointed Reid Lawson, DPT, Manager of Rehabilitation Services at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, to the State Board of Physical Therapy

Lawson came to Sacred Heart Hospital in January 2016 from Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Ga., bringing more than 26 years of physical therapy experience in rural hospitals. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. He earned his bachelor's degree from Augusta University and his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Utica College. Lawson and his wife, Ashley, have four children and live in Lavonia.

The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy is an eight-member board appointed by the governor that licenses and regulates physical therapists and physical therapist assistants practicing in Georgia. According to the board's webpage, there are more than 6,000 licensed physical therapists and more than 2,000 licensed physical therapist assistants in the state. This is Lawson's second 2-year term on the board.
