The Georgia Travel Association was excited to host 300 guests this morning at the Georgia Aquarium for the inaugural GATA Breakfast. Industry leaders from across the state gathered to celebrate the success of Georgia tourism and look forward to a great 2017.

"We are honored to welcome so many influential community leaders as the Georgia Travel Association hosts our first breakfast. Tourism is economic development; and we're excited to continue telling our industry's story as we look to the year ahead,” said GATA Executive Director Morgan Law.

Attendees were honored to welcome Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson to discuss how the tourism industry can grow, and how continued success in the tourism sector is vital to Georgia's future in economic development. Following Commissioner Wilson, Adams Sacks, Founder and President of Tourism Economics, gave an informative analysis about Georgia's economic forecast. Sacks expounded on opportunities for continued growth in tourism and highlighted future industry trends.

In closing remarks, Russell Jacobs, 2017 GATA Chair and World of Coca-Cola General Manager, said, "What a great way to start the year. I'm excited about the opportunities that 2017 holds and grateful for the continued support of tourism industry leaders as we work together to move Georgia forward."
