Georgia-based Turf Nation Proud to Manufacture Playing Surface for Super Bowl LI
Monday, January 16th, 2017
Turf Nation, a leading manufacturer of high-quality synthetic turf surfaces, is proud to have manufactured the playing surface that will be used for Super Bowl LI, to be held February 5 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Turf Nation's footprint is prominent throughout the Houston sports scene as its American-made turf is also the playing surface at the Houston Texans practice facility, the University of Houston football practice facility, as well as TDECU Stadium, the home venue for the University of Houston football team.
This is the third time in the last five years that a NFL Super Bowl venue has featured a surface manufactured by Turf Nation — Turf Nation previously manufactured the playing surface for the 2013 and 2014 Super Bowls at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and MetLife Stadium, respectively.
"We take tremendous pride in creating the highest quality synthetic turf fields available today, and we're thrilled that America's biggest sporting event will once again be played on a field manufactured by Turf Nation," said Turf Nation President Sid Nicholls.
Turf Nation stadium surfaces are manufactured using the highest-grade C8 polyethylene fiber, which helps ensure superior performance and durability. All components of a Turf Nation synthetic turf system are manufactured in the U.S., and each surface is custom-designed to a team's, or school's specific needs. All synthetic turf surfaces are field-tested by an independent laboratory prior to shipping.
