Tuesday, December 6th, 2016
Global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work and Fortune named AT&T one of the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity.
AT&T ranked #39 on the list, which is based on employees' assessments of workplace fairness, opportunities for training, and access to senior leadership, among other factors.
Workplaces that prize diversity and inclusiveness aren't just good for specific classes of workers. Organizations create winning workplaces by promoting environments that are great for all employees. That's according to research Great Place to Work conducted to compile the list. The 50 companies on the 2016 Best Workplaces for Diversity list average 24% higher year-over-year revenue growth than other Great Place to Work-CertifiedTM workplaces that didn't earn a spot on the ranking.
"A diverse workforce isn't just the right thing, it's good for business," said Cynt Marshall, senior vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer. "We are committed to creating a truly inclusive environment at AT&T. That commitment starts at the top with our chairman and continues with meaningful diversity and inclusion programs."
"We congratulate this year's winners for showing that diverse workplaces are good for ALL employees," said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. "Bottom line? Our research shows that the most inclusive workplaces enjoy significantly higher revenue growth than less-inclusive workplaces—evidence that these organizations are cultivating the full human potential of all their people."
