GDOL to Help “A Hand to Hold” Recruit Home Care Workers in Athens

The Georgia Department of Labor will host a series of recruiting events this month in Athens for A Hand to Hold, an in-home-care service provider.

The recruitments will be held at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Athens Career Center located at 150 Evelyn C. Neely Drive. The first event will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, and the second event will be Wednesday, Dec. 14. Both will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The company is recruiting a number of workers for three positions: licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants and transportation/companions/homemakers.

All applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma, a driver’s license and at least one year of experience in the job for which they’re applying. Applicants who apply for the LPN and CNA positions are required to have proof of certification.

Salaries will be discussed with the applicants at the time of the interview.

Veterans will be given preference for the positions and must have proof of military service.
