The Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau, the official destination marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County, has hired the final staff member of the sales team. Nick Arnold joins the group as the new senior sales manager.

“Nick brings capability, knowledge, and confidence to the Senior Sales position. He was very beneficial to the CVB during the Georgia Society of Association Executives’ Annual Meeting in June, a convention of key meeting planners in our state, and is a great team addition to our team,” said Director of Sales Missy Brandt Wilson.

In his role as senior sales manager, Arnold is responsible for identifying viable customers in assigned markets, tracing potential accounts with goal of booking business and maintaining a database of relevant contacts. He will also be heavily involved with developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients to promote Athens and develop awareness of the destination. Nick has a proven track record of success during his time in Athens, as well as a strong background in operations management, sales and marketing, in addition to attaining a master’s in Sports Management and Policy.

Prior to joining the Athens CVB, Arnold spent three years leading sponsorship and in-house advertising sales with The Classic Center’s marketing department. He also previously held the position of operations manager intern for Core Soccer and assistant manager for Young Harris Water Sports, both in North Georgia. Arnold’s passion for sports will be a great asset to the CVB as the sales team extends its focus on bringing sporting events to Athens.

Nick’s addition to the CVB completes the Athens sales staff, as Missy Brandt Wilson was promoted to director of sales and Jay Boling joined as sales manager in August.
