Athens Community Council on Aging Appoints New CEO

The board of directors of the Athens Community Council on Aging is pleased to announce the selection of Eve Anthony as its new chief executive officer. The selection was made after a nationwide search process, during which Eve served as interim chief executive officer for the organization

“There are very few people who are more respected in the aging services community in Georgia than Eve Anthony,” said Shannon Wilder, board chairwoman of ACCA. “We are confident that Eve will bring leadership and creativity to the agency’s programs due to her deep commitment to serving older adults. She brings a range of perspective and experience having previously served as the agency’s chief operating officer as well as in other leadership and staff positions, and has an exciting vision for the future of ACCA.” 

Anthony’s experience includes over 16 years of programming and administration experience in the aging sector. 

“I am extremely pleased to learn that Eve Anthony has been selected as CEO of the Athens Community Council on Aging,” said Jim Dove, executive director of the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission. “She brings impeccable credentials to the position and is known for her dedication and motivation.” 

Anthony serves as the past president of the board of the Georgia Gerontology Society, board member of Meals on Wheels Georgia, and will be inducted onto the LeadingAge Georgia Board in December. She serves on several statewide aging service committees and workgroups and is an active member of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Group. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned her bachelor’s in recreation therapy.
