US Congressman Rob Woodall Talks Statewide Transportation

Beginning Monday, October 24, 2016, Congressman Rob Woodall, Georgia’s member of the United States House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will begin his seven-city tour around the state to discuss transportation with local leaders, chambers of commerce, industry stakeholders and transportation experts.

At each stop, Woodall will highlight the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act and the Water Resources Reform and Development Act, along with several other federal issues. Both the FAST Act and WRDA have positive impacts for the state of Georgia by allowing local leaders, businesses and citizens to have a voice in their communities when it comes to securing various types of transportation options throughout the state. Each stop will conclude with a Q&A session with Woodall and a representative from the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The seven tour dates and times are included below:

·         October 24, Sandy Springs, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

·         October 24, Columbus, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·         October 25, Savannah, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

·         October 25, Valdosta, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

·         October 26, Augusta, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

·         October 26, Athens, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·         October 28, Dalton, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Also, the 2016 Georgia Transportation Summit will take place in Athens at the Classic Center on November 30th from 7:00 A.M. to 4:30 A.M. This full-day summit will provide attendees with a broader and more detailed understanding of transportation projects happening all around Georgia.
