Tuesday, October 11th, 2016
The SunTrust Foundation announced it will donate $250,000 to the American Red Cross to support Disaster Relief efforts for the thousands of residents in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia that were impacted by the devastation left by Hurricane Matthew. The Foundation’s contribution will help fund American Red Cross’ recovery outreach, as well as the 248 shelters the organization established to house more than 13,000 people.
“The widespread flooding and powerful winds have caused severe hardship and displaced thousands in the region,” said David Fuller, president of the SunTrust Foundation. “As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, SunTrust is providing these relief efforts to help ensure that our neighbors receive the assistance they need.”
SunTrust also is collecting donations for the American Red Cross at all of its branch locations. To find the nearest branch in your area, please visit www.SunTrust.com. Although today, Columbus Day, is a U.S. Bank holiday, several dozen SunTrust branch locations in impacted areas in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina will be open to ensure clients have access to their funds.
