Fortson, Bentley, & Griffin, P.A. has added Bricker “Bric” S. Daughtry, a new litigation partner, to its law practice. Mr. Daughtry has expertise in the areas of general civil litigation and employment litigation.

“We are pleased to welcome Bric to Fortson, Bentley, & Griffin,” said Partner David K. Linder. “Bric shares our firm’s commitment to taking care of our clients, and his expertise in litigation, mediation, arbitration and employment law will be great assets to our team. The opportunity to have this talented litigator join our firm was simply too good to pass up.”

Mr. Daughtry joins the firm from Birmingham, Ala. where he practiced as a litigation attorney and was a shareholder at Carr Allison. He represents both individuals and corporations in diverse disputes ranging from general business litigation to employment matters to transportation. Mr. Daughtry graduated from Cumberland School of Law in 2007. While attending law school, he served as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Law Advocacy. He was also selected by Cumberland’s faculty to participate in the Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellowship. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Scholar of Merit Award for Mediation and Mediator Practice. Bricker maintains a diverse litigation practice, and he will focus on employment and labor law; litigation and dispute arbitration; and mediation at Fortson, Bentley, and Griffin, P.A.

“As my family and I evaluated our future, the opportunity to join a firm with a 70-year history in a thriving community that is nationally recognized for its quality of life had a strong appeal,” said Mr. Daughtry.  “But just as important is the quality of the attorneys at Fortson, Bentley, & Griffin, who are not only top legal minds but are relentlessly focused on serving their clients every day.”

An AV-rated attorney though Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Daughtry is a member of the Alabama and Georgia State Bars. Before law school, Mr. Daughtry graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in cellular biology and a Master’s degree in Science Education from the University of Georgia, which he put to work for four years as a teacher and coach at Apalachee High School in nearby Barrow County in the early 2000s.

After joining Fortson, Bentley, and Griffin, P.A., Mr. Daughtry returned to Athens with his wife and four children. Outside of work, he enjoys keeping active with golf, mountain biking and running.
