Braves to Host Yankees in Exhibition Game to Open Play at SunTrust Park
Friday, September 9th, 2016
The next chapter in the storied history of the Atlanta Braves will begin with an exhibition game with the New York Yankees at SunTrust Park on March 31, 2017. This will be the first game at SunTrust Park, and it will be the final one of Spring Training. The game will be open to all Braves A List Members only - full and partial season ticket holders. Full season packages will include a ticket to this game.
"The excitement is growing for the opening of SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta, and we want to share that excitement as a reward to our season ticket holders and showcase the building for the first time in front of them," said Derek Schiller, Braves President, Business. "Our new ballpark will be among the best in Major League Baseball, and this game will give our A-List members the opportunity to get a first glimpse at SunTrust Park. It will give them the chance to find their way to the ballpark, find their way around the ballpark, try out our new concessions and experience firsthand all of the state-of-the-art amenities."
The Braves also are planning various other public events during March and April to give the community the opportunity to see SunTrust Park prior to Opening Day, 2017.
In addition to being two of the oldest and most successful franchises in MLB history, the Braves and Yankees both figure to field young, exciting teams in 2017. The two teams have faced off 31 times in the regular season and postseason with the Yankees holding a 19-12 overall edge, including victories in the 1996 and 1999 World Series.
2017 A List Memberships for SunTrust Park are available for purchase in-person, online and by calling 404-577-9100. At this time, only full-season memberships on The A List -- the Atlanta Braves season-ticket holder program -- will be available. Additional ticket options will be available at a later date.
