The University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center will lead a workshop and panel discussion in Atlanta on Thursday, Aug. 25, to help Georgia small businesses and entrepreneurs break into the state’s $6 billion film industry.

Judiffier Pearson, a film and entertainment business consultant with the UGA SBDC office in Clayton County, will lead the three-hour workshop titled “Becoming a Camera-Ready Vendor” at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The cost of the program is $75.

The workshop is in conjunction with the BronzeLens Film Festival, which will be held at the Marriott Aug. 25-28.

Pearson has run previous sessions in Athens and Atlanta, helping Georgians understand the production ecosystem and the types of services and products film crews need, such as dry cleaners, automobile detailers and caterers. Workshop attendees will learn how to adapt and market their services to the entertainment industry’s needs.
