SunTrust Banks, Inc. was named to IDG's CIO 100 for developing and implementing an innovative new card services platform. The technology provides SunTrust credit card clients with enhanced online and mobile functionality, along with a streamlined dashboard for SunTrust teammates to more efficiently respond to client requests.

"To be recognized by CIO as one of the top 100 technology innovators in the country underscores our commitment to ensuring that our clients have the tools they need to for efficient banking," said Anil Cheriyan, chief information officer at SunTrust.  "This project also highlights how we are going to deliver technology enhancements in the future. We've established a new Information Technology operating model at SunTrust that provides continuous, more agile delivery of solutions, creating business value for the company and speed of responsiveness for our clients."

To make it easier for SunTrust credit card holders to find information online or on their mobile device, the new platform includes a simplified user interface with responsive design. The internal dashboard provides SunTrust teammates with essential client service information at their fingertips via intuitive tabs so that they can quickly handle client inquiries.

This is the 29th annual award program for the CIO 100, which recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

The recipients of this year's CIO 100 Award were selected by a team of external judges (many former CIOs) and CIO editors based on leading-edge IT practices and measurable results.
