Governor Deal Appoints 16 to State Boards

Travis Stegall, Board of Commissioners of the Commission on Equal Opportunity
Stegall is the executive director of the T.R. Stegall Education Foundation. He is a graduate of the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute and earned bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Project Management from Georgia Southwestern University. Stegall resides in Decatur.
Bill Hutson, Board of Commissioners of the Sheriffs’ Retirement Fund of Georgia (reappointment)
Hutson is a retired sheriff of Cobb County. He was previously the executive director of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council and sat on the state Board of Corrections. Hutson is a past president of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association, the Peace Officers’ Association of Georgia and the County Officers’ Association of Georgia. He was named Sheriff of the Year in 1999 by the National Sheriffs’ Association. Hutson attended Kennesaw State University, Georgia State University, the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville and the National Sheriffs’ Institute at the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Jackie, have two children and four grandchildren. They live in Marietta.
Randy Shirley, Board of Commissioners of the Sheriffs’ Retirement Fund of Georgia
Shirley is the sheriff of Stephens County and was previously the police chief of Lavonia. He is a past president of the Toccoa Lions Club and the Toccoa Shrine Club. Shirley is active with the Toccoa-Stephens Boys & Girls Club, the Tugalo Baptist Association and the criminal justice advisory board at North Georgia Technical College. Shirley sits on the National Sheriff’s Association boards for homeland security, juvenile justice and youth programs. He is also a member of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association’s Training & Standards Committee. Shirley earned bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminal Justice from Brenau University. He and his wife, Cheryl, have one child and reside in Toccoa.
Jonathan Eisenstat, M.D., Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel
Eisenstat is the chief medical examiner for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He sits on local and national committees that focus on subjects such as organ donation and mass fatality preparedness. Eisenstat earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and a medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine. He and his wife, Ashli, have two children and live in Dunwoody.
Tiffany Sawyer, Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel (reappointment)
Sawyer is the director of prevention services at the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy. She was previously the associate director of programs at Darkness to Light. Sawyer is the chair of the Youth Safe and Aware Work Group for Georgia’s Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston. Sawyer and her husband, Alex, have two children and reside in Decatur.
Peggy Walker, Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel (reappointment)
Walker is the juvenile court judge of Douglas County. She was previously the chair of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence and the director of the National Council of Family and Juvenile Court Judges. Walker is a graduate senior fellow at Emory University and a Harris Fellow with Zero to Three. She earned a master’s degree in Education and a law degree from Georgia State University. She lives in Douglasville.
Daniel DeLoach, M.D., Georgia Composite Medical Board (reappointment)
DeLoach is a plastic surgeon and a past president of the Medical Association of Georgia. He sits on the boards of directors of the Memorial Health University Medical Center, the Medical Association of Georgia Mutual Insurance Company and the Chatham County Hospital Authority. DeLoach also sits on the Georgia Health Sciences University Foundation board at the Medical College of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. DeLoach and his wife, Cameron, have three children and reside in Savannah.
Richard Weil, M.D., Georgia Composite Medical Board (reappointment)
Weil is a pediatrician and a former chief of pediatrics at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He sits on the board of directors for Kids Health First Pediatric Alliance and previously sat on the board of the Children’s 1998 Society. Weil earned a medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, completed his pediatric residency at Emory Healthcare affiliated hospitals and served as the chief resident at Grady Hospital. He and his wife, Carole, have two children and live in Atlanta.
Dianne Davis, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services Board
Davis is a retired regional director for the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. She is a certified rehabilitation counselor, health coach and personal trainer for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Davis is a member of Friends of Georgia State Parks and the Dougherty County Rotary Club. She volunteers for the Wilson Hospice House and the Albany Area YMCA. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University. She resides in Albany.
Angela Mackey, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services Board
Mackey is a human resources generalist at the Walgreens distribution center in Pendergrass. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Anderson University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University. Mackey and her husband, Christopher, live in Braselton.
Lauren Curry, Southern States Energy Board
Curry is the deputy director of the Environmental Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). She was preivously the chief of staff for the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency and the public and governmental affairs director for DNR. Curry earned bachelor’s degrees in Government and Business Economics from Wofford College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia. Curry and her husband have two children and reside in Marietta.
Brant Lane, Stakeholder Advisory Board
Lane is a partner with Hodges, Harbin, Newberry and Tribble, Inc., a civil and environmental engineering firm. He has more than 20 years of experience with civil and environmental engineering projects. Lane is a member of the Erosion and Sediment Control Overview Council and sits on the advisory board of Renasant Bank. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Lane and his wife, Marcy, have one child. They live in Statesboro.
Marc Mastronardi, Stakeholder Advisory Board
Mastronardi is the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Division Construction director. He sits on the board of directors of the Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control program. Mastronardi is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Order of the Engineer. Mastronardi is also an instructor for the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission’s Level II Design Professional course. He earned an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology from the State University of New York Broome Community College. Mastronardi and his wife, Julie, have one son and reside in Peachtree City.
Terry Cook, State Board of Nursing Home Administrators (reappointment)
Cook is the chief operating officer of Pine Leaf Investments. He sits on the boards of directors of the Georgia Healthcare Association, Merchants & Citizens Bank and the McRae Rotary Club. Cook was named the Administrator of the Year by the Georgia Health Care Association in 2008. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Samford University. Cook and his wife, Heather, have four children and live in McRae.
Dare Domico, State Board of Nursing Home Administrators (reappointment)
Domico is the associate dean for graduate programs for the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. Domico earned a diploma in Nursing from the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, a master’s degree in Nursing from Emory University and a doctoral degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She resides in Suwanee.
Mark Chastain, State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (reappointment)
Chastain is a land surveyor and the owner of Chastain & Associates, P.C., a surveying, planning and consulting service. He served one term as the Gilmer County Surveyor and two terms on the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners. Chastain earned an associate degree from the Southern College of Technology in Civil Engineering Technology. He and his wife, Donna, have three children and live in Ellijay.
