Georgia Tech home to First Amazon Pickup in Georgia

Amazon@GeorgiaTech, located on 5th Street in Tech Square, is now open for package pickup.

Amazon@GeorgiaTech provides a safe and secure location for Amazon customers to receive packages at their convenience, eliminating issues such as missed delivery attempts or missing packages. Packages arrive directly from Amazon distribution centers.

Additionally, Prime and Prime Student members can receive free one-day pickup on many items on orders placed before 10 p.m. and shipped to the Amazon@GeorgiaTech pickup location.

Amazon@GeorgiaTech also accommodates returns with a free self-service return station that includes free postage and a place to print return labels.

Members of the Tech community can visit georgiatech.amazon.com to activate benefits. Anyone with an active email address ending in “.edu” can sign up for a Prime Student trial membership and receive six months of shipping benefits free. After the six month trial, an annual membership subscription is $49 for students. 

The Amazon@GeorgiaTech pickup location is the first in the state of Georgia. Since 2015, Amazon has opened staffed pickup locations at the following universities: Purdue University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of California, Berkeley, as well as in the college communities of University of California, Santa Barbara and University of Cincinnati.

In addition to Georgia Tech, Amazon also will open four more locations in 2016 with the University of Pennsylvania, University of California, Davis, The University of Texas at Austin, as well as Amazon@Akron near University of Akron.
