This award is given to four Georgia attorneys annually in the areas of general practice, plaintiff counsel, defense counsel and Judiciary. Recipients must be over 50, have 20 or more years of achievement as an attorney in the selected category, have made a significant contribution to continuing legal education and Bar activities, have a record of community service and have a personal commitment to excellence.

The award was conferred at the State Bar of Georgia’s Annual Meeting at Amelia Island on June 17. Timmons has practiced in Athens since 1973 and is a partner in the firm Timmons Warnes, LLP with Jim Warnes.
