Garrett Elected President of Georgia Utility Contractors Assoc.

The Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. recently elected Charlotte Garrett of Rockdale Pipeline Inc. in Conyers as the 2016-2017 GUCA president at the annual conference in Ponte Vedra, Fla.

Garrett has served on the GUCA board of directors as 2012-2013 director; 2013-2014 director; 2014-2015 second vice president; and, 2015-2016 first vice president. She has served on several GUCA committees including finance, industry relations, membership, PAC and safety.

Garrett was born and raised in Rockdale County and began working at Rockdale Pipeline Inc. in 1987. She moved to North Georgia in 1992 where she met and married her husband of 19 years Brad Garrett. In 2002 Garrett rededicated herself to Rockdale Pipeline where she has successfully transitioned from office administrator to a certified safety manager trainer in construction from the National Association of Safety Professionals. In 2007 Garrett became Rockdale Pipeline’s safety manager, a position she is proud of and still holds. In 2010 she became corporate secretary and in 2012 her dedication was rewarded when she became part owner of Rockdale Pipeline.

Garrett lives in Monroe with her husband Brad, their three children and four grandchildren. She and her husband enjoy camping, boating and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Garrett will also serve with newly elected officers and directors that include: First Vice President Billy Crump, LaKay Enterprises Inc., Fort Valley; Second Vice President Jeff Rowan, Callaway Grading Inc., Hampton; Treasurer Debbie Elliott, Elliott Construction Co., Suwanee; Secretary Joseph Webb, RDJE Inc. Newnan; and, Ex-Officio Bobby Cates, Ruby-Collins, Smyrna. The new associate directors elected include Jeff Duncan, Tractor & Equipment Company, Forest Park; and Billy Padgett, Efficiency Products Inc., Fayetteville. Directors elected for 2016-2018 include Charles Allender, Civil Site Services Inc., Fayetteville; Mark Gravel, Willow Construction Inc., Powder Springs; Andrew Lindsey, Astra Grading & Pipeline LLC, Woodstock; Jody Rogers, Y-Delta Inc., Statesboro; and, Terrell Taylor, TMT Utilities LLC, Fort Valley. Those continuing on the board as directors for 2015-2017 include Michael Corbett, The Corbett Group LLC, Douglasville,; Ryan Gilmore, Controlled Blasting Inc., Winder; Tripp Griffin, Griffin Utility Construction LLC, Smarr; Clay Smith, LeClay Construction Inc.; and, Dickey Watson, Industrial Chemicals Inc.
