Oconee Budget up 5%, Mill Rate Stays Same

The Oconee County Commission approved the county’s 2016-2017 fiscal year budget, adopting it with little discussion Tuesday night.
The $25.1 million operating budget for the year beginning July 1 will be about 5 percent higher than this year’s budget — about the same amount as the increase in the county’s tax digest.
