Earlier this year, Google shared news that Atlanta would be one of the first cities to experience Google Expeditions — a new smartphone application that allows teachers to take their students on virtual field trips. The demonstration at Hope Hill Elementary in February was a huge success, and since that time, Google has been bringing abstract concepts to life through collections of virtual reality collections in other schools around the world. To date, more than one million students across 11 countries have taken one of the virtual reality trips.

They're excited to share that Google Expeditions is now available for everyone, so that all students in Georgia and across the globe can turn their imaginations into virtual realties, learning beyond the pages in a textbook and outside classroom walls.

To get started, all teachers need to do is download the Expeditions app onto a set of devices and choose which of the over 200 Expeditions they want to take with their students. The app is currently available for all Android devices and will be available for iOS devices soon.
