Tuesday, June 14th, 2016
Direct Travel has just announced its acquisition of Atlanta-based corporate Travel Management Company, Georgia International Travel.
Ed Adams, CEO of Direct Travel states, "Direct Travel's acquisition of leading travel management agencies – like Georgia International – is indicative of our uncompromising commitment to serving our clients in a local/regional environment that allows us to provide high touch services and stay close to our customers."
Sam DeFranco, Direct Travel Regional President comments, "We were looking to grow our presence in the southern travel sector and Atlanta is not only a dominant US travel hub, it's a vibrant market. Vela McClam-Mitchell, Georgia International's President and COO, and her team have clearly built a robust and highly-respected business that now affords Direct Travel the opportunity for new and sustainable regional organic growth."
Commenting on her company's recent acquisition, Vela McClam-Mitchell, remarks "Understanding the travel industry and our clientele, I realized that growth in this business requires a strong partnership, and although Direct Travel is a significantly larger company, its culture closely resembles that of a much smaller agency."
McClam-Mitchell goes on to note, "In tandem with our own business philosophy, Direct Travel is focused on personalized, high-touch services for our customers. Supporting that philosophy operationally is the newly expanded availability of specialized training for our staff, and an experienced and long-tenured travel management team to guide and underscore our client service efforts. That's exactly the type of partnership you need for success and continued growth!"
