BankSouth, a family-owned community bank serving customers in the Greensboro, Watkinsville, Athens, Atlanta, and Savannah areas, was once again named a “Top Community Bank in the Nation” by Independent Community Bankers of America for the fourth consecutive year and is featured in Independent Banker’s “Best of the Best” May 2016 issue. This year, BankSouth ranked #2 and #3 in financial performance measurements for Sub-S Corporations with $300-$500 million in assets.

“It’s quite an honor to be ranked by ICBA as a top community bank in the nation and to be included with such highly-esteemed company.  It is especially gratifying this year as it’s our fourth consecutive year in the rankings and higher than previous years,” said Harold Reynolds, chairman and CEO of BankSouth.

Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, BankSouth cites its core business values which include, “being ready, responsive and respectful,” as its guide to managing quality growth and company-wide initiatives. “For us, success is measured in generations. People want to know they’re a priority, and we take that very seriously at BankSouth.  It’s our job to always be forward thinking and proactive in all of our relationships. This includes making personal connections with our customers, our employees, and within the community.  It’s always great to be recognized, but it’s about doing what’s right for the customer, and when it’s all said and done, that will continue to drive our success,” said Reynolds.
