GDEcD: WL Plastics Corporation to Create 40 New Jobs in Statesboro

The Georgia Department of Economic Development announced that WL Plastics Corporation, one of the largest manufacturers of high performance High Density Polyethylene pipe and related products for the oil, gas, mining, industrial and municipal water markets, will create 40 jobs and invest $12 million in Bulloch County.

“To serve their customer base and remain competitive, companies like WL Plastics need high-quality resources like those found throughout Georgia at their disposal,” said GDEcD Commissioner Chris Carr. “Their locating here speaks to the strength and vitality of our ready-to-work labor force and top-ranked business climate. We have no doubt that this industry leader will find much success in our state.”

WL currently operates seven state-of-the-art manufacturing locations in North America. Their manufacturing processes and experienced production personnel help make WL one of the most efficient producers of HDPE pressure pipe.

“We are very excited to have WL Plastics locate in Georgia and become part of the Statesboro community” said Mike Dahl, Director.  “We think this is a terrific location to service our customer base in the region, and we believe the town, county and workforce will be a very good fit for our operation.”

The company produces a broad product mix between 1/2″ to 54″ pipe and focuses its main efforts on four industry segments: potable water, wastewater, oil and gas and industrial or mining. WL also participates in geothermal, landfill and nuclear market segments as well as natural gas distribution piping and export markets.

GDEcD Project Manager Wylly Harrison represented the Global Commerce division in partnership with The Development Authority of Bulloch County and Georgia Power. In addition, WL Plastics has expressed interest in working with Quick Start for future workforce demands.
