The executive director of the Athens Downtown Development Authority is asking the authority’s board of directors to allocate $75,000 in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year to what she is calling “incubators” for technology businesses and arts-related enterprises.
The $75,000, which would cover both initiatives, according to ADDA Executive Director Pamela Thompson, likely would be used to lease some downtown office space. In turn, the ADDA would sub-lease that space to technology and arts-related enterprises, she explained.
