Buchanan returns to Cannon bringing over 25 years experience in both leading large, diversified financial firms and in advising organizations on acquisitions, integration and organic growth.

Most recently, Buchanan served as President of Argent Financial Group, an $11.6 billion diversified services firm. During his three year tenure, Argent more than doubled its client asset base while assimilating eleven separate acquisitions. “The success of Argent speaks to the opportunities that focused and disciplined financial services firms can achieve,” said Buchanan. “I was extremely fortunate to work with a great executive team at Argent and am very excited to now partner with an equally talented team at Cannon. Buchanan began his career at The Trust Company of Georgia before originally joining Cannon in 1992. Today he serves on multiple industry and organizational boards, in addition to his work in the philanthropic arena.
